"I don't want my girls to live in constant fear"
“I don’t want my girls to live in constant fear,” Olga Savelyeva, a resident of Yasnohirka, bordering Kramatorsk, began her story with these words.
Olga is a programmer, wife, and mother of two wonderful girls, Victoria and Valeria. Until February 24, she had a good job in the company, lived with her husband in their house, and raised their daughter peacefully. The man worked as an energy engineer at a factory in Kramatorsk.
However, a calm and stable life, like that of millions of other Ukrainians, had ended on that February morning. First, the family went to stay with their grandparents. But later, Olga’s husband assured her that everything is calm in the village, and there are no shellings. Therefore, the Savelievs returned home, the woman went to work. But the anxious state did not leave her…
And indeed, Kramatorsk is not far away. And every shelling of a neighboring city leaves a very creepy feeling, especially for children. The man began to insist that it was necessary to save the children. It’s good that no rocket arrived today, but this is war…
Recently, the Russians shelled the outskirts of the village. And the decision to evacuate was made quickly after the rocket attack on the “Rio” cafe in Kramatorsk when so many young people died there. Then Olga quickly packed her things.
The father of the family contacted the Save Ukraine team, and our volunteers helped Olga and the girls leave for Dnipro. He himself stayed to work in Kramatorsk at the factory. After all, today men’s hands are needed everywhere.
“I am very grateful to your organization for the help to our family. Thank you very much to the volunteers,” Olga didn’t stop thanking her and her daughters ended up safe.
