The system of support for families in difficult life circumstances
Save Ukraine specialists, who are involved in the development of daycare centers for children, visited Lithuania to deepen their knowledge about the system of support for families in difficult life circumstances.
In Lithuania, our delegation visited many children centers and met with Lithuanian officials who deal with social issues in the country. We managed to communicate with the Vice-Minister of Social Security and Labor Vilma Augienė, Head of the Group of Horizontal Policy and Project Management Daina Urbaitienė , Advisor for Coordination of State Support of Day Care Centers, Integrated Care Dalia Filipaviciute . We had talked with the officials about crucial issues for Ukraine regarding the development of the training system for social workers of daycare centers.
And with the director of the Confederation of NGO’s for Children Elena Urboniene , representatives of Save Ukraine discussed cooperation and partnership in the charitable sector for comprehensive support of children and their parents.
During the three-day visit, the Save Ukraine delegation visited day and crisis centers, where highly qualified specialists assist families and children in difficult life circumstances, such as violence, neglect, lack of parenting skills, etc. Discovered how Lithuanian specialists rescue children from adverse living conditions and were impressed by their methods of creating a safe therapeutic environment for healing families. The centers allow for the all-around development of children and form the skills for independent living in society. Whereas parents get the opportunity to recover and master the skills of positive parenting, non-violent communication, household management, etc.
Besides, our specialists visited the rehabilitation center for children with disabilities, where specialists work to help children with special needs adapt to society and develop at the highest level.
We are grateful to the Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania for the trip, which will enable the Save Ukraine team to provide the highest quality comprehensive assistance to Ukrainian families affected by the war. We also appreciate special thanks to Daina Urbonaitienė for organizing a fascinating and filled-up trip program.
