The Austrian Embassy has supported children we rescued from occupation
Last week, our Save Ukraine Hope and Healing Center experienced a moment of warmth and light: Austrian Ambassador Robert Müller visited the children in our care, bringing St. Nicholas Day gifts and a message of solidarity.
For children who have lived through occupation, the loss of home, and a long journey to safety, these were not just sweets and toys. They were a reminder that the world sees them — and stands with them as they rebuild their lives.
“Children are the reason we all keep fighting — and Austria is ready to support Ukraine so that every child can heal, dream again, and rediscover joy,” Ambassador Müller said during the visit.
Thanks to our art therapists, the children we have rescued are healing from the trauma of war through creativity. And this year, they will share their stories of hope and light with our Austrian partners — the Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs chose their drawings for her official Christmas greetings.
Their artwork will travel across Austria — carrying a message of hope, resilience, and faith in Ukraine’s future.
We are deeply grateful to the Austrian Embassy, Ambassador Müller, and the people of Austria for their friendship, compassion, and steadfast support for Ukraine’s children.
