Over 150 Children Completed an English Course by the British Council
The war has taken not only homes but also educational opportunities from many Ukrainian children. Yet education is the key to the future every child deserves. That’s why Save Ukraine, in partnership with the British Council and with the support of the UK Government, launched an English course — an essential step in helping children who have experienced occupation and deportation rebuild their lives.
Participants included young Ukrainians aged 6 to 18 from across the country. British Council teachers designed the lessons to consider each child’s background, experiences, and emotional well-being.
📚 How did the learning process work?
✅ Game-based methods made lessons engaging and exciting.
✅ A personalized approach — each child was tested to receive a program tailored to their level.
✅ Psychological support — specialists helped children regain emotional stability.
✅ Art therapy — thanks to the British Embassy Kyiv, learning centers were equipped for creative development and provided with art therapy materials.
By the end of the course, children not only improved their English and earned British Council certificates but also made new friends, felt the support of teachers and psychologists, and, most importantly, gained confidence and discovered new opportunities.
🗨️ “I really enjoyed learning English — it’s not boring at all!” “The lessons were so much fun! We played different games!”— our students shared their excitement.
A heartfelt thank you to our partners — the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, British Embassy Kyiv, and British Council — for supporting this important project! Together, we’re giving children the chance to dream again and build their future.
