Children from one of Save Ukraine’s centers received a special award – medals of courage from the American organization Medals4Mettle.

These are real marathon medals – from athletes who have overcome superhuman distances. They are usually awarded to those who are struggling with serious illnesses or have survived life’s trials. Now, these medals have become a symbol of strength for Ukrainian children who have run their own marathon – through the occupation, loss of loved ones, pressure and fear.

Each medal carries a message of strength and hope: “When you wear this medal, remember: you are a winner. And we are rooting for you.”

The medals were presented by our friends from the United States – cardiologist @James Higgins and producer of the movie A Faith Under Siege @Karl Ahlgren. Thank you @Medals4Mettle for this sensitive initiative – it not only inspires, it gives children the feeling: I see you, I’m here, and your story is important.

Together we remind every child: you are not alone. And your life can be bright, free and happy again.
