Eske Touborg & Save Ukraine: Art That Heals
Children rescued from war and occupation spent two days immersed in art therapy — led by world-renowned Danish artist Eske Touborg, in collaboration with Save Ukraine and Kolo Nordic.
More than 50 Ukrainian children expressed their stories through paint, color, shapes, and symbols. Together, they created over 20 meters of artwork filled with light, hope, and dreams.
The artworks have now been brought to Denmark where Eske Touborg will finalize the paintings into a collection that will be exhibited in NATO facilities in Kyiv and at Aarhus City Hall.
With inspiration from the expression of the children’s paintings Eske Touborg has also decorated the bomb shelter of our Hope and Healing Center in Irpin – a city that endured occupation. Several large wall paintings of sun flowers are now brightening the shelter with warmth and hope.
“It’s not about rules or perfect art. It’s about laughter, color, and emotion. The children’s joy — that’s the real masterpiece,”— says Eske Touborg
Art can’t erase trauma, but it can help release it.
Through this project, children had a moment of freedom — to create, to dream, to simply be themselves again.

💛 Huge thanks to Kolo Nordic and Eske Touborg for making this possible.
